The HTC Sensation is one of those phones that make you think of ditching your current one. It has a beautiful and large screen with a 1.2Ghz processor and the latest Google Android 2.3.3 OS.

There are 2 negative points regarding the Sensation which keep me from buying the phone:

1. As you mentioned, the space between the display and the case. Many users already got dirt and dust under their display.
2. Choppy performance. It's a dualcore phone and the browser is still very choppy - I can't live with that. I don't buy a DC phone just to see choppy browsing.

At the same time, other high end phones like the Galaxy S2 suffer from huge problems too. The praised display has huge drawbacks. A yellowish tint and gradient from left to right and huge banding issues. It's very well documented on XDA.
I expect those things on mediocre phones. But choppy browsing performance despite a DC SoC or problems with the display (be it dirt or just a crappy display) are a no go for a super high end smart phone for me. So I'll probably wait for the next Nexus.

I just bought the Sensation and so far love it. The only bad thing that I have noticed is the external speaker is horrible! Call quality is good and I got over 12 hours of battery life yesterday, which is great for a smart phone...at least for me. Keep in mind battery life fluctuates with usuage and heavy usage will have lower battery life. I just didn't want everyone to think 12 hours was an everyday occurrence. I used to have to charge my Galaxy S two times within an 8 hour period and call quality was horrible. So far no death grip issues either. This phone far outshines my last one, Samsung, and I have no regets. UI is also great. First HTC phone and have to say I am impressed with this smooth running phone with excellent speed.

For a phone to be so hyped before it's launch this is a real failure for HTC. I loved HTC phones but I will be moving on to a Galaxy S 2 or waiting for T-Mobile to reveal it's version of it.

Overall the phone lives up to its name and is sensational. I love the lock screen, and all of the sense widgets. The sense UI was basically the reason I got the phone. It is the most polished UI for any android phone. Sense actually makes the phone easier to use and just looks better then stock android. (BTW I still do really like stock android). I'm a little bummed about the locked bootloader, but by the time Gingerbread is out of date hopefully HTC will have unlocked the bootloader with an update.

I haven't had an abundant amount of time with the phone so I don't have a comment on battery life, but I can say so far it is holding up pretty good even with extended plants vs zombies action. Gaming is really good on this phone. I also don't think the speakers are that terrible, I mean nothing extraordinary, but not to bad.

So, in conclusion the HTC Sensation is an outstanding phone, and in my opinion the best smartphone available in the US at the time. Anyone who is looking for a smartphone on tmobile should definitely take a good long look at the Sensation.

I find this phone pleasing to look at, I also find it to have many nice features and it really is a great phone. I don't understand why people would care about viewing angles, then again that's probably just me. Battery life isn't that much of a big deal for me (unless you're dead in between the hours of 7 to 2, then we have an issue). Basically it's a great phone, I'd get it but I want to hop on the Blackberry train, I know I must sound so idiotic for preferring a BB over an Android, but I want to have a firsthand experience.

I really like this phone can say it's the best phone I have owned so far. Don't let the "Death Grip" stop you from buying the phone. You really have to try to get it to get rid of WIFI and like I said I still haven't been able to kill my 4G yet. My 4G runs about 3M download and 1.5M upload here in SLC, Utah.

This is, hands down, the best phone I have ever owned. I bought this phone because it was the only phone that seemed to do very well on reviews. I was not disappointed. There is more than enough space for all the games I could ever want on this phone. It is so fast also. This is the first smartphone where I have not had disappointing problems. I would recommend this phone in a heartbeat and in the future will most likely stay with HTC because of this phone.

The HTC Sensation is a great handset, there's no doubt about that, and it seems like the proper successor to the original HTC Desire. With a spec boost in almost every area it's a more convincing upgrade than the Desire S was and feels like a step forward both in terms of hardware and software.

My only complaint about this phone is the unibody can sometimes have a creeking sound when if the touchscreen is pressed too hard. That can become very annoying rather quickly.

Got this phone two weeks ago and I'm still in love with it. It's fast and the bright screen is beautiful. The camera and camcorder are probably one of the best features of this phone. The camera takes AMAZING pictures that are flawless even with low-light. The full 1080p camcorder is clear, crisp, and voice cancellation is perfect. There are a few bloatware apps but you can uninstall most of them. This phone is better than any phone that I've had in the past. Top three best T-Mobile phones. Games run SUPER SMOOTH (Angry Birds ran better than my friends iPhone). MUST BUY! I got the extended battery life (1900 mAh) and this battery pretty much lasts me the whole day. I'm not sure about the one that comes with the phone itself..

I'm very happy with the Sensation 4G. I haven't been able to duplicate the "death grip" on 4G or with bluetooth, though my WiFi signal does weaken considerably at times when I hold the phone in landscape mode to type. I have yet to completely lose my WiFi signal due to the way I hold the phone. Initially, the phone did lag every so often, but that has been improved to zero lag since I received the 2.3.4 OTA update to Gingerbread. Overall, an excellent phone. I'm very happy with it.

Sense is for the casual phone user. It is actually very beneficial, with shortcuts and features such as FriendStream and unified email.

I have been using the T-Mobile version of Sensation and like Sense. I understand the high end geek wanting a pure android experience with an unlocked bootloader. However, for 95% of the population, that has no interest for them.

Similar to Blackberry going mainstream, while HTC used to be the device for the tech gearhead, I feel that HTC has also gone mainstream, especially since more than half the population is now buying smartphones.

I personally think the HTC Sensation looks much nicer than the Galaxy S II, and it also provides all 4 Android buttons, which is more useful.
Also, Sense 3 is a genuinely nice addition, so I REALLY don't understand the lust for AOSP based ROMs.
I know which phone I'll be recommending if people ask me...

I think the cons are that it has only 768MB RAM, that the Snapdragon SoC seems slower than the Exynos or even the 1 GHz Tegra2 and that the battery life seems a bit short.

I’d put it on par with the Atrix and I think the SGS2 is a bit better. It’s still much better than the last gen (Desire HD, Galaxy S 1, Xperia Arc).
